I love riding my bike! It’s fun and reminds me of being a little kid. It’s a great way to get in some of your 60 daily active minutes. I tend to ride more for fun in the summer, but this year I brought a bike to college and I ride it everywhere. I find myself smiling as I enjoy the feel of the breeze on my neck as I pick up speed.
Exercise reduces anxiety and makes you happier. Similar to hiking your favorite trail or walking your dog, biking doesn’t feel like working out, but if you spend an hour riding around, you’ll burn close to 300 calories. Jump on your bike, it’ll boost your immunity, vitamin D, your “happy chemicals,” like dopamine and serotonin, and you’ll feel awesome. I also recommend getting yourself a super fun sounding bell. I promise it’ll make you smile too. Just grab your helmet and get out there!
