I love living an active lifestyle! Since I grew up playing sports, I understand the importance of being active each day. I’ve had so much fun with Special Olympics and helping with the NFL Play 60 program, encouraging kids to get outside and play or exercise for at least 60 minutes a day.
Exercise is important for health and longevity, but it also boosts brain function.
Exercise is important for health and longevity, but it also boosts brain function. The endorphin high I get after a tough sweat session is amazing and addicting. I look and feel my best when I’m active. I work out almost every day and add weights and resistance 3-4 days. I’m excited to share my favorite workouts and fitness tips so that you can “Play 60,” and feel your best. When you feel your best is definitely when you’re the most confident in your own skin.
Sometimes it’s easy to get a hard workout in, other days are busier and I focus on simple ways to get active. On busy days try these easy ideas:
- Take the stairs
- Walk the longer route; don’t look for shortcuts
- Stand more, sit less
- Take your dog out for a walk, and make it a brisk one
- Most importantly, get up and move! You’ll be glad you did…think endorphin rewards!
