A (Healthy) Day in the Life

I often have people reach out about my diet or workout routine, and what I do to stay healthy and fit. I always want to encourage you that whether you are preparing for an event like me or not—you can live a life full of health and wellness. It truly is all about balance and learning what nutrition and workouts are best for you.

In this post, I’m sharing a day in my own life with food and fitness taken from my own plans. I hope these encourage you in your own health and wellness journey–and maybe provide you some new ideas as well.

BREAKFAST

healthy breakfast ideas

I am breakfast obsessed! The first meal of the day kick starts your metabolism and helps to provide the energy and focus needed to work efficiently throughout the day. One of my favorites is this delicious and vitamin-packed berry smoothie bowl and a vegan matcha latte. I follow this meal by doing Kayla Itsines’ morning stretch video. Stretching is essential for recovery and is a great way to get your body moving in the morning!

FULL BODY HIIT WORKOUT

HIIT Workouts

HIIT workouts are one of my favorites. They burn more calories, target multiple muscle groups at a time, and can also lower blood sugar and blood pressure. Just remember: HIIT & don’t quit!

LUNCH

Eating a nutritious lunch helps reduce stress and provides the fuel your body needs to take on the afternoon work grind. I like to keep my energy up with a sweet potato & quinoa salad with turmeric-coated cauliflower on the side.

YOGA

Yoga Routine

Yoga is a great way to put your body through active recovery and stretching which helps with injury prevention while also being active and getting a good workout in. It’s no surprise that after pushing myself to the limit during CorePower that I’m hungry!

SNACK

I love slicing up some tomatoes, pairing it with light mozzarella, and topping it with just a splash of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Don’t underestimate the power of snacks.

DINNER & DESSERT

healthy dinner ideas

Dinner is an important part of the day, it makes up for the nutrients that may have been missed during the day. That’s why I eat something that is packed with protein, like a salad with shrimp and lentils. Since I do have a sweet tooth, I love a dessert that is delicious and satisfies my craving but is also somewhat healthy. I love making this simple one-ingredient banana ice cream. Plus, no ice cream maker needed for this rich and silky delight!
