After experiencing firsthand how sports are a universal language, Gracie Hunt founded Breaking Barriers Through Sports in 2016. With her passion for promoting inclusion worldwide, Breaking Barriers Through Sports aims to give people a positive identity and confidence through athletics and living a healthy lifestyle.
“Sports have broken barriers in my own life and given me a sense of identity and confidence. I grew up playing soccer and experienced firsthand how sports bring people together to work towards achieving a common goal. The power of sports diminishes the barriers formed by one’s unique walk of life—whether it be race, gender, belief, socioeconomic status, or language.”

Since its inception, Gracie has spoken in schools about teamwork, respect, inclusion, and hard work. She has partnered with NFL Play60 to host clinics reaching children from all backgrounds and walks of life. In addition, she has had the opportunity to put on soccer clinics and aid underserved communities in places like Zambia, South Africa, Russia, and the slums in Brazil. Through BBTS, Gracie has also served as a Unified Partner Player, Board Member, and Global Ambassador with Special Olympics.
